Solid Automated Software Testing
Of course there’s a connection between what I care about and what certifications I chose to acquire:
Caring about working software means caring about developing software that works. In fact, software that works at least good enough to get the job done, but preferably software which gets the job done very well and is a pleasure to use. One of the ways to achieve this is ruthless testing. Testing which can — and in fact will — be done every time a new version of the software is ready to be delivered. This in turn is only possible if it’s automated, as typical software systems offer so much functionality that only automated tests can give a good coverage.
Caring about delivering software means caring about developing something and putting it into production — in time, on budget and also in high quality. Scrum is one way to do this. Apart from enabling teams to actually deliver shippable product increments, Scrum also helps to improve the the software development process itself.
